Yea-Sacc®1026

Yea-Sacc^®1026 is a live yeast culture based on Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain 1026, a yeast strain specifically selected for its influence on animal performance. With a low inclusion rate and a large body of research clarifying its mode of action and performance responses, Yea-Sacc¹⁰²⁶ is ideal for equine feeds.

The objective of feeding management is to provide a ration with balanced nutrition that both maximises nutrient utilization while minimising the occurrence of digestive disorders. Horses evolved to eat a fibre diet - their intestinal system is designed to process large amounts of low-quality forage, ingested on an almost continual basis. Horses' intestinal systems have remained largely unmodified - but the way in which we feed them has changed. As horses have been developed and bred for more energy-dependant roles such as racing, endurance riding and eventing, they are often fed diets rich in high-starch cereal grains. If large amounts of starch are available to microbes in the hindgut this can, and often does, cause the horse to develop colic and other digestive disorders.
