Easter Monday 2010 will live long in the memory of Cork native James Motherway as the day he landed one of the biggest National Hunt Races in Ireland - the Powers Whiskey Irish Grand National with his 8 year old mare Bluesea Cracker. The mare gallantly fought off her many rivals to land the massive pot by 4 and a half lengths with a great round of jumping and her stamina never came into question as she looked fresh and well after completing the gruelling 3 mile 5 furlong trip. She was given a fantastic ride by her jockey Andrew McNamara who never seemed to doubt that she would stay the distance. The mare and her trainer will be the toast of Cloyne in the coming days and we at Gain would like to congratulate all the winning connections on their historic victory.
