Vendor Paula Flannery from Egmont Stud sold the best pinhook on Tuesday of the prestigious Doncaster St Leger Yearling sales. An Elusive City colt, purchased for €16,000 at Goffs in November, was sold for an outstanding £90,000 Naas based owner Norman Steel.
Another fine pinhooking success was achieved by Jimmy Murphy’s Redpender Stud when a Medicean colt out of a daughter of Coronation Stakes winner Exclusive was sold at £120,000 to Ross Doyle. This was almost 30 times the price Murphy paid for the yearling as foal which was purchased at 4,000gns.
